Depankar has worked in the software industry for over 20 years including extensive experience with start-ups. This isn’t the first time that Depankar has set out to solve an entire industry’s problems, either. Depankar’s career started with a single goal: to create intuitive, affordable, on-demand business software that was flexible enough for businesses of all sizes. As CTO and co-founder of the venture-backed startup, Copanion, Depankar built the first SaaS-based technology that used machine learning, image processing, and a business rules engine to automatically extract data from tax source documents so accountants could focus on value added service to clients instead of data entry.

He has also worked in management and technology at Arthur D. Little, Motorola, Inktomi, Comverse, Procter & Gamble, and Intuit, one of Fortune 500’s most admired software companies. He also holds more than ten U.S. and international patents for inventions in machine learning, image processing, and software and telecommunications systems.

Depankar holds a Ph.D. and MS from the University of Massachusetts and MBA from Columbia University, and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology in Kanpur, India.
